eIVF-Connect is eIVF's integration and interface-engine designed to allow connectivity with other enterprise and other disparate systems.

eIVF-Connect adheres to industry standard messaging systems, including:

 HL7

XML

ASTM

ActiveX
Custom (Serial Port)
  NCPDP (under development)

The purpose of eIVF-Connect is to allow eIVF to share data with other applications.  It does this by sending and listening for TCP/IP transmissions in the HL7 protocol.  Once properly configured, eIVF-Connect can read or write a variety of data such as patient and provider information, scheduling information, billing information, insurance information and more.  When it receives an HL7 message, it parses the message and uses the ActiveX data objects that underlie eIVF to write the information from the message into the eIVF databases.  When eIVF wants to send information to another application it creates a special "event" record in the database.  eIVF-Connect continually polls the database for such event records and when they are found, eIVF-Connect uses the key information (in the event record) to extract all necessary information from the eIVF databases, constructs a corresponding HL7 message and sends them to receiving application.
